Welcome to Nababeep Hills Guest House, a three-star bed and breakfast, located in the heart of Namaqualand!
Nababeep Hills Guest House has a long tradition of hospitality. Originally built in 1968 by O’Kiep Copper Company as a guest house for the guests of the copper mines, it is part of a one hectare property which also housed the General Manager of the mines.
When the copper mines closed in 2004, the house and guest house became available for private purchase. We were able to buy the property in late 2006, conducting renovations and gaining a three-star accreditation with the Tourism Grading Council.
Nababeep, where we are located, is a quick 20 km north of Springbok. Nababeep, which used to be the administrative headquarters of the Okiep Copper Company, also functioned as the foundry for the crushed ore that was then melted into copper bars for export.
Namaqualand, best known for its unparalleled seasonal flowers and succulents, draws visitors from all over the world during the spring. For three-quarters of the year this area has an arid beauty all of its own, which transforms itself into a wonderland of colour and variety after the winter rains.
Accommodation:Our guest house, renovated in 2007, is called Nababeep Hills—inspired by the beautiful hills surrounding Nababeep.
There are seven spacious, air conditioned bedrooms that are individually decorated, each with an en-suite bathroom. Each room has a king-sized bed made up with crisp, clean white linens. (Should you prefer separate twin beds, we can easily and comfortably accommodate your needs.)
Breakfast is served in our dining room.It is included in the price.In the evening you can enjoy our cooking - good old "boerekos" (traditional food). This is on request and must be booked in advance.
We have plenty of safe, gated parking for your vehicle on the guest house property.If you would like to stay on your own, we have a 3-bedroom self-catering unit. The self-catering unit sleeps six people, has a bathroom with shower, basin and toilet, and includes a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room and an outside braai area.
